Next year’s Assembly election campaign will formally start a day earlier than planned. It’s because of the extra bank holiday to mark the royal wedding. An Assembly spokesman has this morning confirmed this, saying,
“Dissolution of the National Assembly will now take place at midnight on 31 March 2011 instead of midnight on 1 April 2011 because there has to be 28 working days between dissolution and the election.”
