All four of the main parties here in Wales have agreed not to carry out any high-profile or attacking campaigning this coming coming Monday which is the day of Brynle Williams’ funeral.
Mr Williams, who was a well-liked Conservative Assembly Member for the North Wales region, died from cancer at the beginning of the month.
Senior figures from the other parties are expecting to attend the funeral which will be held on Monday.
And the parties have reached an agreement to tone down campaigning for the day. They’ve agreed to continue with local campaigning but have cancelled press conferences and other high-profile launches as a mark of respect to a man who made friends across the political divisions. They’ll also hold off from making any political attacks on opponents for the day.
